Otterkill Animal Hospital can assist you with preventative care for your pet, through vaccinations and parasite control. We also provide care for acute and chronic illnesses. In addition to medical care, we offer a variety of specialized foods, nutritional supplements and grooming items for your pet.
Hospital Accreditation
We participate in the hospital inspection and accreditation program of the American Animal Hospital Association. Only 17% of America's veterinary hospitals meet these standards and receive this accreditation. As members, we are regularly inspected for compliance with over 300 criteria covering all aspects of hospital and patient care. We are also inspected by the New York State Veterinary Medical Society. These programs are our way of ensuring you that your companions will always receive the best possible care at Otterkill.
Hospitalization
If your pet needs to remain with us overnight, he will receive the best in modern veterinary nursing care from our loving and caring staff. Round-the-clock care is provided for critical cases. We do encourage you to visit your hospitalized animals; arrange for these visits with the doctor in charge.
For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all hospitalized patients be current on their vaccinations. Any routine care, such as de-fleaing or de-worming, will be taken care of at the client's expense.
Phone calls concerning the condition of hospitalized animals should be made after 9:30 AM. This allows our staff the time for early morning patient care and assessment, enabling us to provide a complete report when you call. If there are any critical changes, the doctor will contact you immediately.
Payment and Fees
Payment is expected at the time our services are rendered or when your pet is discharged from the hospital. We accept personal checks, cash, and Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Novus credit cards. We encourage you to discuss fees before services are rendered and will be glad to provide a written estimate upon request.
Breeder's Programs
We pride ourselves on establishing healthy working relationships with people who are actively showing and breeding animals. We are certified in the PennHIP method of screening for hip dysplasia and are members of the Synbiotics referral network for breeding. We also have special pricing programs available for breeders.
