Otterkill Animal Hospital
Newsletter Volume 1, September 2005

Greetings. It's taken some time but we are finally starting up our e-newsletter to help keep you abreast of important developments in animal health care as well as important news about our hospital. We know you're very busy, so we promise to keep our news articles short. Please let us know what you think of this. We welcome any ideas regarding items you'd like to see included in the future.

Keep up your tick control!!!
Deer tick season will be approaching another peak over the next few months. We actually see our highest incidence of Lyme disease cases in dogs during November and December. Therefore it's imperative that you continue your tick control methods through those months. We've been impressed with the efficacy of K9 Advantix and/or the Preventic collar as the best means to keep those ticks at bay.

E-mail Refills
You've seen all those ads for on-line pharmacies/medications. We want to add the same level of convenience for our clients. When you need a refill on a medication, you can call or e-mail your request. Upon one of our veterinarian's approval we'll have the medication ready for your pick-up or will gladly mail it out at no additional charge if that's what you prefer.

Otterkill Website
Have you visited our website recently? It is freshly updated with staff bios, pet care information, a tour of Otterkill, an online forum, and many resources.

Hospital News
We're very glad to have Dr. Keller back from her maternity leave. Andrew Orion Keller was born July 15. Both have done very well. Dr. Chun very graciously expanded her hours during Dr. Keller's leave and will continue to perform surgeries Thursdays in addition to her regular Wednesday hours.

We are very pleased to announce that we've added another veterinarian who will be seeing appointments on Tuesdays. Due to contractual arrangements with his previous practice we can't publish his name here, so you'll have to come meet him in person. This doctor owned an area practice for many years and was well liked by all his clients. We're very fortunate to have him offer his years of veterinary expertise to our patients as a member of our team. He was Dr. Keller's mentor during her pre-veterinary and early veterinary career; he helped make her the great veterinarian she is today.

All of these changes are our way of showing how much we pride ourselves on providing you with the best veterinary care we possibly can.

We're doing our best to decrease your waiting times
; we know how valuable your time is these days.

Otterkill Animal Hospital is dedicated to being the best hospital we can possibly be. We're grateful that you're part of our animal health care team.
